MCP
Connect Model Context Protocol clients to the Amped.Bio MCP endpoint.
Amped.Bio exposes a Model Context Protocol server whose authorization is delegated to the OAuth provider described in this documentation.
- Protected resource:
https://api.amped.bio/mcp - Resource metadata:
https://api.amped.bio/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp - Required scope:
mcp:read
How clients connect
- The client fetches the resource metadata, which lists our authorization server.
- It discovers
https://auth.amped.bio/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server. - It authorizes with the
mcp:readscope, requestingresource=https://api.amped.bio/mcp. - Tokens are audience bound to the MCP resource, so they cannot be replayed against another API.
Clients that identify themselves with a hosted metadata document (Client ID Metadata Documents) are supported, which is the recommended way for MCP clients. Older clients can also use dynamic client registration with an initial access token issued to them by us.
Testing with the Inspector
npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspectorPoint the Inspector at https://api.amped.bio/mcp, choose OAuth, and complete the consent screen. A first
tool call returns the account the token belongs to:
{ "sub": "42", "scope": "openid profile email mcp:read" }Available tools
| Tool | Description | Scope |
|---|---|---|
whoami |
The account the access token belongs to | mcp:read |
list_creator_pools |
Creator pools owned by the linked wallet | mcp:read |
Unauthenticated requests receive a 401 with a WWW-Authenticate header pointing at the resource metadata,
which is what lets MCP clients start the flow without manual configuration.
