Our events for the blind are geared towards to impacting both the blind participants who break through personal fears and raise expectations while bringing awareness to those who are in the hallway of being diagnosed with a unstoppable eyes disease. The blind become the mentors for those going through vision loss. surfing, sailing, clamming, skydiving, and more life after blindness events are being added each year as we grow.
Surfing For Vision
Surfing For Vision is an inspiring annual event held on the Jersey Shore in Long Branch, New Jersey, created by the Visual Experience Foundation to give individuals who are blind, legally blind, or living with significant vision loss the opportunity to experience the thrill of surfing and being out on the water. The free, family-friendly event — supported by volunteer surfers, certified safety personnel, and local lifeguards — offers participants the chance to feel the wind, taste the salt spray, and ride waves with expert guidance, while loved ones enjoy free surfing lessons and wave runner rides. Your Staking supports this event that sends a powerful message of courage, inclusion, and life beyond sight loss by creating unforgettable ocean experiences for people of all ages.
